Shopping MallDova invites you to the celebration “ABRACADABRA! – A family for each child”

• Sunday, 23rd of May, the mall will host the 8th Abracadabra Festival

On 23rd of May starting at 12:00 Chisinau citizens and guests are invited to a day of magic with and for abandoned children. The event is aimed at raising public awareness regarding the situation of children in boarding schools, providing a possibility to meet them in a place other than the institution they live in. Abracadabra Festival organized under the motto “A family for each child” is inviting everyone to discover a child’s dream to have a family. Over 1500 children, teachers, trainers and volunteers are coming to Shopping MallDova to play and to give the children back their rights to a happy childhood and, most importantly, to a family to foster them with love and care.

Stela Vasluian, President of Amici dei Bambini International Association, Moldova: “The reason we organize this magical holiday is to bring joy to children of the 16 boarding schools of Moldova. Most activities are organized by children from the community especially for children from these institutions. Together they can become integrated, communicate and make friendship that will last for a long time. Together they can overcome certain complexes and obstacles”.

Tatiana Lungu, President of “Prietenii Copiilor” (Children’s Friends) Association: “Activities and holidays like Abracadabra help boarding school children feel happier, feel that they can have a brighter childhood with the same rights as their other peers. That is why we want to dedicate this day to all children, but especially to children from boarding schools, because we hope that some day there will be fewer children in boarding schools and more in families. We believe in magic!”

During the event children and parents will enjoy a recreational program full of fun: a musical played by children’s artistic groups and local artists, creative art workshops, face-painting, game activities and balloon modeling.

Shopping MallDova is also opening a new art gallery on the 3rd floor. The first photo exhibition to be held at the gallery will be dedicated to Abracadabra holiday. The exhibition “A family for each child” has a double meaning: one half of the exhibits are photos of children in boarding schools, while the other half of photos, picture moments of family lives of Moldovan stars and public persons. The exhibition is supported by Odoraş Magazine.

Abracadabra holiday is simultaneously organized in about 20 countries where Amici dei Bambini International Association carries out its activities. In Chisinau the event is held by Amici dei Bambini jointly with Prietenii Copiilor Association, the General Directorate for Education, Youth and Sport within the City Council of Chisinau, and Shopping MallDova.
