BEST Engineering Competition To Be Hosted For The Second Time By Shopping MallDova

BEST Engineering Competition

BEST Engineering Competition (BEC) organized by the local BEST team from Chisinau will be held between March 14th - 20th. BEC is a local level engineering competition, organized especially for the Technical University students. It consists of 2 contests: Case Study and Team Design. Shopping MallDova will host the competition on March 17th – 18th (from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m on the second day) at the ground floor.

"Team Design" is a test for students whose creativity is not described in words but in deeds: several teams will develop from unconventional materials (paper, cardboard, fruits) devices that meet certain requirements.

"Case Study" is a test for those who can generate ideas and think critically. Working in a team, participants must find a creative solution to a problem or to develop a successful project.

The winners will participate in regional competitions - RoBEC (Romanian BEST Engineering Competition), where will compete participants from similar competition levels from Romania (Iasi, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov and Bucharest.) This year, the regional RoBEC competition will take place in Chisinau in the period May 5th to 9th. The winners of this competition will go to EBEC (BEST European Engineering Competition), which will take place in Istanbul and will gather finalists from all over Europe.

BEST - Board of European Students of Technology is a student organization at European level, apolitical and non-profit that aims to facilitate relationships between students, companies and universities. BEST aims to provide personal development opportunities for future engineers and encourages communication and work in a multicultural environment through the events they organize. The local BEST team workes in Chisinau at the Technical University from Moldova starting from February 2007.
